Celebrating Africa's Giants: ELEPHANT

African elephants are the largest land mammals on Earth. Their massive size helps make them "ecosystem engineers." They shape and change the physical structure of the world in which they live.

We developed elephant-themed activities and high-quality, creative materials that meet educational needs and promote biodiversity conservation. We provide educators with training on how to develop and implement innovative, effective conservation-oriented teaching strategies. Our materials are ideal for educators at zoos and schools in America and Europe as part of giraffe/elephant/rhino days, school visits, and zoo camps.

Elephant Environmental Education LIbrary

We developed the following materials:
(1) Children’s storybook (Our Elephant Neighbours)
One day Robert and his little sister, Mary, head to the waterhole for water. But when they arrive, a 'big' surprise is waiting for them - a family of elephants! Robert and Mary meet two young elephants and learn the many ways elephants and humans are alike, as well as the challenges elephants must face to survive. In the end, the little humans vow to do what they can to help elephants, and to never forget their new friends from the waterhole.
